Job Description

  • Preparation and presentation of group reports to internal and external executives
  • Monthly, quarterly and year end reporting for merchandising and corporate function
  • Present monthly analysis on performance of COGS, Margin, Vendor Rebates, and Promotional Income across all categories
  • Group quarterly and annual budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting by preparing group reporting templates and timetables, and consolidating market and business function results
  • Provide commentary on group results to present to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the merchandising team and corporate functioning areas to produce detailed budgets and quarterly forecasts
  • Lead vendor negotiations, including the financial modelling of scenarios and outcomes including COGS efficiencies and vendor rebates
  • Collaborate with financial accounting teams and category management to accurately reflect vendor agreements and financial results
  • Define business requirements for Merchandising functional reporting including Tableau and dashboard reporting
  • Identify areas for improvement by analysing performance vs target across all functional areas
  • Work to establish high quality performance reporting

The Successful Applicant

  • Tertiary education in Finance, Commerce or a related discipline;
  • CA/CPA qualified or equivalent;
  • Experience with group reporting responsibilities and commercial business partnering;
  • Confidence in Excel modelling;
  • Experience managing various projects simultaneously;
  • Manufacturing, FMCG or Logistics experience highly preferred;
  • Strong analytical and communication skills;
